책 소개
For policymakers, educators, youth workers, and others, Bendit (German Youth Institute, Munich, Free U. Berlin, and Ludwig Maxmilian University Munich, Germany) and Hahn-Bleibtreu (Federal Ministry of Health, Family and Youth, Austria) compile 22 essays that examine young peoples' transitions to adult life in Australia, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America, and how globalization processes affect their lives. These include their transition from school to work, formal and informal learning, social and political participation as citizens, culture and communication styles, use of new technologies, inclusion and exclusion from society, and youth policy. An international group of contributors from universities, research institutions, and international youth policy administrations, participated in the International Researchers Meeting, "Youth, Participation, Governance and Democratic Citizenship," held in Vienna in December 2006, from which the papers in this volume are based. Grammar and punctuation errors are present in the introduction and some of the chapters, suggesting the editors and some of the contributors lack a facility with the English language. There is no index. Distributed in the US by ISBS. Annotation ⓒ2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
