This book is written as an intermediate-level guide to the applied statistical analysis and interpretation of survey data, for a graduate course in applied methods for survey data analysis, and for survey practitioners and research scientists from various disciplines. Students should have a minimum of a two-semester graduate level course in applied statistics. The text introduces a step-by-step process for approaching a survey analysis problem, then covers fundamentals of complex sample designs, and analyses of continuous and categorical variables. The linear regression model for continuous dependent variables is presented, along with generalized linear regression modeling methods for survey data. Final chapters cover methods for event-history analysis of survey data and for handling missing data problems. Chapter theory boxes and exercises are included.
